A traditional mailing list manager like our own DBMailer maintains a list of subscribers on the hosting server. It offers features like automatic subscription and un-subscription forms for your web site, welcome and farewell messages to subscribers, and automatic bounce handling.

But a mailing list isn't really a database, so you can't mail to a subset of the list. You can't readily tell which subscribers on your mailing list are customers and which are just prospects. And you can't personalize mailings with database information like first name or product purchased, etc. With DMI, that's all easy to do.

Warning: If you do not have a 100% confirmed-opt-in database, read no further. We can't help you if you plan to send email to people who don't want it.

Actual throughput depends on the recipient mail servers of course. Single-click un-subscribe link Recipients can opt out of future mailings by simply clicking a link in each message. We provide that unique link for each account. Automatic bounce handling Bounces are returned to our server, not to you. When a given address bounces on three successive mailings, it is banned from future mailings. Editable From: header Account owner can edit the visible From: address on each mailing. Include database variables in mailings Your messages may include up to 9 additional variables such as first name, last name, product purchased, phone number, zip code, etc. extracted from your database. Support for A-B mailings If you load a single message, it is sent to all recipients. If you load two or more (up to 5) messages, the recipient list is broken into equal parts and each message is sent to an equal subset of recipients. This is typically used for "A-B" mailings, to test various message formats or offers. Affordable Just $99.00 per month, plus $0.10 per MB of mail sent. Invoicing is done by email on the 1st of each month. See the FAQ for examples. A service like DMI can be easily abused. DataBack Systems will only do business with legitimate companies who send desired email to willing recipients. Thus, this service is provided only by application.
